Sorry for doubleposting this, but i figured i'd have a better chance to get read when opening a new thread for my question. I hope you guys don't mind!

Hi guys,
this is my first (now second!) post here, as i have a rather specific question regarding the Sterling by Music Man JP50:
I want to put the DiMarzio Crunch Lab and Liquifire humbuckers in this wonderful guitar (just for the sake of it), and i need to know if i need to order the F-spaced version(s) of the pups or not? (I have not yet received the JP50, so i can't measure anything..)

My guess is, that i need the Crunch Lab (bridge position) as F-spaced version, and the Liquifire (neck position) as normal version. Is that right? Or would i also need the neck pup in F-spaced version for some reason?

Would be awesome, if someone could shed a little light on this for me..

Thank you very much,
shagga

Confirming size based on popular eBay 'kits'

I can't find the millimeter spacing of the F-spaced Liquifire on the Dimarzio website. If I could, this would be really easy. Check out a common eBay ad:

DiMarzio F-s Liquifire Neck Crunch Lab Bridge Set Black on eBay.ca (item 400139385134 end time 25-Aug-10 12:41:32 EDT)

Note that the two pickups *appear* to be sold as a matched set. But what concerns me is that the Liquifire box is labeled 'F-Spaced' as well. Does that mean I'd be getting two 53mm spaced pickups? The fact that the Liquifire is also capable of being a bridge pickup (says Dimarzio) doesn't make this any clearer.

Can I go with this eBay set or do I need to find independently a clearly marked 'F-spaced' Crunch Lab and a clearly unmarked Liquifire?

Stop the madness, please!

Yes, you do have to buy an F-space bridge and a standard-space neck separately.
I had to do this for mine. My tech actually ordered them in and they sent both F-space, we had to reorder the standard space

Tung, thanks for the quick reply, confirming that this eBay kit is not the right path for me.

So, how do you like your JP50 now that you've done the CL/LF pickup swap?

Glad i could help.
I love the sound with the CL/LF swap. check out the first track on my Myspace site, the tune "Improv- Larry Carlton track", if you want to hear how it sounds. i have to thank Pat Park for recommending the swap, I love it. the only complain i have is the Liquid Fire is a bit weak on the clean settings.
