SBMM Ray 35 pickup tone difference?

Hi everyone!

I longed to join this forum but I didn't have a Musicman...until now. Proud owner of a Sterling by Musicman Ray 35 in natural finish with black pickguard. Love it except I'm a bit confused about the pickup selector switch.

What kind of tone does each pickup option make? Can't find anything that sounds legit. Thanks
 
Back position is parallel, middle is series with a deep tone and top is series. I've had two and thought they were great tonally, not sure why you can't get a legit tone with a three way and a three band EQ though. I hope you find
some usable tones. I found them to be incredibly stable also, great bass. Congrats and good luck.
