Looking to replace the bent steel saddles on my Silo 20 with solid metal ones. This is for a hardtail bridge strung thru-body, so I'm not concerned about trem issues, just sustain and intonation.

Thinking of using Babicz saddles, as I have a Babicz bridge on another guitar that I really like, but not sure if they'll fit, or how compatible they might be with heavier gauges (downtuned). Any recommendations?

(I have looked at the Facebook SBMM group but couldn't find anything relevant.)

What you need to do is measure the string spacing from the centre of the low E string to the centre of the high E string. You can use any saddles that matches that width. Sustain and intonation won't be an issue, but tone may be. Bent steel saddles are generally regarded as brighter in tone than solid cast saddles.

I have put the Highwood Vintage Style saddles my SBMM Silo and can highly recommend them.

Quality drop in replacements made by a Dutch company. They have basically finished the job that Leo F. started by rolling the steel a bit further and cutting the threads in the lower part just above the bridge - no more screws sticking out!

They are not cheap but well worth the money.

lol. I just threw my highwood saddles out. Had the low E and G string getting caught. Huge bends would leave it flat. vibrato reset would bring it back but it would go sharp. I had enough and went with what works as I've done the WLS130s on most of my other guitars at this point. Pricey but a guitar that doesn't stay in tune is a guitar that gets sold in my world.
