Just picked this up and really liking it. One thing I have noticed on all of these I have tried is how hard it is to plug a cable into the 1/4 inch jack. Any remedy for that.

Try a different cable.

There are two types of TS (nominal 1/4") plugs. Switchcraft makes true 0.25 (6.35mm) plugs, whereas Neutrik (e.g their NP2C) are 6.29mm (0.24 inches). That hundredth of an inch (0.254mm) can make a difference.
 
Opened it up and adjusted the contact points on the jack, it is not a sealed jack like my other basses have. Working better now.
