So, I'm sitting here at the Incheon International Airport in South Korea, waiting to get some food and then board my flight to Busan. Just some anecdotes and a question. I made the decision to move here and accept a job teaching English, so I have my life packed up in 4 boxes and have hauled out back to my homeland (though I was born in the USA).
1st - Korean Airlines has been so good to me and my 25th Anny. While their policy has changed with checking instruments, they now charge you "oversized" baggage on the SKB Hardshell case, but assure you that it will be carried to the plane and back. It doesn't go on the conveyor belt or come out on the conveyor belt, they have someone standing at the baggage claim holding it for me. Thank goodness! I heard some horror stories (Joe B. and his BFR Bari JP6) and am glad to see my hardshell case without scratches on it.
2nd - Bringing your rack units as carry-on might not be a good idea, but probably better than checking it. I flew from LAX to Narita in Tokyo, to Incheon then to Busan. All three times, I have been stopped, pulled aside, and inspected because I'm carrying my Eleven Rack with me as carry-on. Nothing like a big metal box with wires everywhere to make you look suspicious eh?
3rd - How do I find any EBMM retailers (if there are any in Korea) so I can still manage to feed my addiction? I need MOAR BALLS!!!! I lived in Southern California, and went to school at UCLA (Hollywood GC 15mins from me) and I lived 15 mins from 3 different other Guitar Centers! (Cerritos, Fountain Valley, Brea) I was able to visit Balls all the time, now I'm not so sure! Help!
4th - If you come visit South Korea, give me a holler!
Thanks for Listening!
