Still hoping for some new music from Steve Perry, so in the meantime I had an afternoon on YouTube.

Spotted a a funky green Silhouette on the "You Better Wait" music video from the 1994 album "For The Love Of Strange Medicine".

There are also a number of live performances of that guitar (and Steve) from a 1994 live show in NYC:

Can anyone confirm if that is Lincoln Brewster (under the massive hair) who co-wrote and played on the album? Some really great playing there.

Great album. Good times.

I met him recently shopping where I work, had no idea he played with Steve Perry. Nice guy. I wouldn't have recognized him from that video though.

Cheers for confirming that was Lincoln, guys. I am mad for trivia!

Excellent find, Jadaxis; some real nuggets of EBMM info in that clip.

Apparently three were made, with no access cutaways on the upper or lower horn. I love the logic behind the colour, when Dudley asked why all three were to be green, the notion was that the favourite one out the three would still be green........ genius!

Cool info.

Man, that guitar has been haunting me since I fist saw it months ago. I'm even tempted to have one of my Floyd silos refinished in surf green...

I had one of those

I actually had the silhouette that Lincoln used on the Steve Perry album. I bought it from him as a teen in Modesto California. We went to the same church at the time. He had four of the guitars total. Three were exactly like the one that he is holding in the video above. They were the light seafoam green, completely flat (no bevel) top, with the floyd. Mine was slightly darker (I was told the only one they ever did in that color) with the standard beveled top.

Sadly, the guitar was in my car when it was stolen by some crackhead in 2002 (along with a LP). I haven't seen it since. If anyone ever sees a slightly darker seafoam green silhouette with a floyd and a H/S/H config (if it hasn't been changed), please email. I have the police report and pictures of myself with Lincoln and myself with the guitar to prove it.

Wow, awesome post.

Seems those guitars have real history!

Sad it is no longer with you, not good at all.

If you have any pics of the guitar, I am sure they'd be appreciated here.

Oh, and Welcome! :)

They do have some history. I loved that guitar. Lincoln was a great guy back then. The man could shred like a maniac. There's video evidence of him playing eruption note for note as a 12 year old somewhere. Not a bad person to pick up your first guitar and some pointers from.

I'll see if I can dig up some pictures and post them here. I've since replaced it with (among other things) a red silhouette special with the piezo pup that I found for something like 750.

Additional details on the old one in case someone ever sees it:

Dimarzio PAF Pro in the neck, duncan single in mid, and a Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge. Very nice birdseye maple neck and fretboard. There are a few other ways to identify it, but I'll keep those to myself :)

Hot diggity, that guitar is hot. Makes me all GAS'sy. :D I just think it looks weird without the bevels.

Great player, as well as a very nice guy, it seems. :)

It's funny, I have that exact bass he is referring to in the video.
