I am getting a hard tail on my new Super Sport...but now I'm second guessing myself. I have the Dargie and the Natty Super Sport both with a vintage trem but I wanted to go hard tail for something different and because of the slightly extra resonance factor / tuning stability.

Perhaps I'm thinking too much but I want to make sure I get this one right and I keep thinking...a trem would be cool as well on the Cab Pearl.

Blow right past this thread if this seems too silly, but I have a feeling this one will move up to "main axe" status so your thoughts would be welcome.

Thanks guys!

Donnie

go with the hard tail . you have the trems. you will regret not having got that hardtail when it comes time for when you want some alternate tunings.

im thinking of getting a 25th or reflex at some point with a hardtail.

Hey Donnie,

I'll be the odd man out here! I would go with the trem. You can set it up so it's on the body giving you the option to do all the things a hard tail can do. Personally I like having the trem route. Now down the road you wish it had the trem then all you need to do is set it back up for trem use.....

That's just my view.....

Man, it's really in what you want and what you gotta have. I always want to have a trem available, but still....I have 4 guitars without trems (all my musicmans have trems....come to think of it...only my musicmans have trems). I don't think you can go wrong either way. If you were considering an Axis (floyd) vs a hard tail, I'd probably say to get the floyd. (jack just got done playing his axis for 2 hours)

Like I said....you won't go wrong either way.

I'm in the same boat. I have nothing but trems on my MM's and it looks like I'm getting a hard tail ASS... Little worried about missing the trem, but at the same time I'm looking forward to the ease of alt tunings and seeing what the tone difference is. Worst case you don't like it and you can always unload it on the forum...

I'd say it depends on what music you plan on playing with it. I do rhythm 99% of the time so hardtail was a no brainer. If I want to solo, I get out the Luke.

Good stuff guys...I very much appreciate the feedback. Based on what I'm reading...I'm thinking I made the right choice going with the hard tail.

I was insistent on having vintage trems on all my EBMM's until I tried a hardtail.... now my top two go-to guitars have hardtails (BFR ASS and Axis Sport). You won't have a single regret once you play it.
