heading to Austin for the holidays on Thursday. As such, I will be in/out as can be so I wish you all a happy and safe holidays. For you forumites within a 1/6th of a day drive of Austin, I hope to catch a beer with you.

My grandfather is buried down there, in Biloxi National Cemetery... at least I hope he's still there after Katrina (that's no joke, folks!). Give him a nod if you drive past, Jackson!

Yup, off to the Gulf Coast, where I grew up.
Steve, I know what you mean about 'if he's still there'. This is my first trip back since Katrina and I'm not looking forward to the shock I've been told to prepare for.
But it will be good to be amongst my sisters and cousins and nieces and nephews and to eat shrimp that's never known a freezer.
Leaving Friday, for those of you keeping score at home.
And yes, my house is thoroughly alarmed and yes, I do have friends on the police department here, including one who is a bassist and who is a pretty good shot, even by my standards.
