I stopped into our local EBMM dealer today to discuss pricing for a string-through HSH Silhouette in Vintage Burst.

Is the buyer able to request;

a) a more figured alder body and/or,
b) a weight in the lower weight range?

I don't want a lightweight alder, just prefer the guitars closer to 7 lbs than 8. The employee wasn't 100% sure on this so I thought I'd ask those 'in the know'.

Thanks in advance.

They are all pretty consistent and you won't be disappointed. My silo spec is lighter than most of my other guitars, but it fits me like a glove. Can't comment on wood grain as I chose white for mine. But the grain on the ones I've seen look pretty good.

My current Special has a nice grain, but is pushing 8 lbs. This is my first real experience with EBMM guitars, so I thought I'd ask how much input the buyer has when ordering.

I'm weighing (pardon the pun) the option to order or wait for a used vintage burst hardtail Special with rosewood fretboard to show up for sale in Canada.

I'm a sucker for the burst.
