I know this is a pointless question with no right answer but I have been going back and forth since I saw the Stingray Classic 5 was coming out. I figured someone here must have a take on this or might even be going thru the same dilemma as me!
I have a natural SR5, 4 years old, Ceramic Pups, beautifully played in neck. I love it but always wished it had the classic SR look.
Also own a Black/ Maple SR4, 1994, satin neck, Alnico Pups. Rock pig of a bass. there is just something really right to me about playing rock on a 4 string. Hipshot extender on the E string.
I love both basses - prefer the 4 string for playing slap, but the speed of the 5 string neck is great. Both basses have their great points.
I never take both to a gig - It is always one of them and another bass from a company with a name that starts with F....
Any thoughts or insight for a desperate man needing closure and direction? And no - I can't just buy another bass! I have too many as it is!!!
I see bass Central has pictures up of the Classic 5's now - are they actually for sale? Is natural an option in the colours yet?
