Yep, I've had my Axis SS (flame/sunburst/rose board/matching headstock) for a good three years now but I've decided to sell it. Its a great guitar but it just isn't suiting me anymore. The neck feels a little too narrow, the radius isn't right for me, etc. Weird, I know, but I think my playing has actually made the guitar less suited to me since I've had it! (I do play an acoustic quite a bit)

I know its odd as I've played it for so long, but it took me ages to save up and I really didn't want to write it off unless I was sure.

At the moment I still have the original pickups but swapped them out for Bare Knuckle Warpigs. Should I put the original Dimarzios back in? The BKP's don't look as good and are very high powered which might not suit everyone!

I'm not posting an ad as such but I feel strangely glum about the prospect of getting rid of this guitar! Has anyone else had this with a guitar (not necessarily an EB)?

Bummer man, but yeah, sometimes you find the guitar just isn't you. Keep looking until you get the right one :)

If it were me, I'd put the original p'ups back in. That's one of the big selling features of that model.

If resale value is a concern...for sure put the original PUPs back in the guitar. In any used guitar sale, it's always better to put it back in the original condition.

Polaris,

Have you tried the other MM models??

You may be able to do a "trade"!! And, hey, you'd still have the #1 guitar on the planet!!

Oh, and don't dare leave those "BK"s in.

cheers!

Cheers for the replies chaps. Yeah, I did consider trying that but I've never gotten on with dimarzios in general. The main reason I bought the guitar was its playability and the tonal options available. This would be the only thing stopping me from selling really - the number of different tones you can achieve are fantastic.

I'll probably keep the BKP's simply because they're in a league of their own. They work for me but these things have so much output they probably wouldn't suit most people (especially if they're after this guitar!)

I may check out a silhouette special - they look mighty fine!
