This was a very tough decision, but I'm gonna go ahead & pull the trigger. I'm selling my SR5. I'm definitely a 4-string kind of player, and I could use the funds to upgrade my amp. Anyway, the SR5 has the burnt apple finish, white pearloid pickguard, rosewood fingerboard, & non-matching headstock. It's a looker! It's in very good shape with just normal playing wear. There's a nick on the edge of the body right where your arm rests, but it's nothing too huge. (I can try to get a picture of it if anybody's curious.) This bass has a non-original hardshell case (SKB). I'm asking $800 shipped in the continental US.

Lemme try to find some pictures here.....

Sorry, the natural SR4 isn't part of the deal. :D

OK,

So you are selling a beautiful five-string that has a discontinued color... Hmmm... I honestly don't think you should. That Burnt Apple is gorgeous! Also, I can understand the point you made about being a four-banger. I'm one, too. However, you never know (as a working bassist) when that Low B will come in handy and that is why I have one on order.

Keep it, and I'm sure another way to fund your upgrading desires will present itself.:)

Oh my Bill, I'm almost tempted to get that one back!

. . but I'm also saving for new amplification.

Any interest in a minty '96 Black/Maple Sterling????

Mr Mobay,
I understand and it's ok, I have dealt with plenty of groupies
and crazed fans over the years.
And of course, we can make arrangements for me to sign any
of these basses for you.

OK! I'll take you up on it.

Can you sign it "To Larry with love from Sterling Ball"? ;)

It's a tough decision, for sure! But I just love the way the 4-string Stingray plays & feels. I thought I was totally in love with the SR5, but then I had to go & pull out the SR4 for a couple of gigs. :(

...or a very nice Trans Gold stingray?

Thanks, but I may have a deal pending on the SR5. Ken, your Sterling offer got my attention for a while! I've never had a Sterling before. It would be fun to have one, but I have a feeling I'd neglect it & play the 'Ray all the time. But I LOVE the black/black/maple look!
