I highly recommend the Clayton picks. I get the ones that look like soft equilateral triangles, in an .80 mm gauge. Works for me perfectly! I'd send some to you but they're hard to find here ...

1mm dunlop nylons.

the black ones

good sound, don't really wear away, has a bit of a grip.

I agree. Do not play that much with a pick though. About 5% I think. But sometimes the pick is the only way to go so it's great to have it as an option. It took a lot of practice for me to get it right when playing with a pick. It felt like an "alien object";) for a long time. The only thing that's harder is playing up-strokes with the thumb. So I will not be like Victor Wooten..............So what?!?;)

BTW - Seeing Billy Sheehan rip through notes with BX3 this past weekend was amazing.

I would have never thought that kind of speed was possible with out a pick. He uses all four fingers on his right hand (pinkie being the occassional plucker) and just shreds.

Seeing is believing!

Now, I think we're talking pics relative to tone and attack, so back to your regularly scheduled thread.

Tom - now get to work...

Looking for full and complete write-up - benefits, risks, the good, the bad and the ugly for each pick.

Favorites and not-so-likey...

Oh, and contrast each one to fingerstyle as well... :D
