That number doesn't fit known serial number formats. Six digit serial numbers have an M prefix and are Majesty guitars. Everything else is either 8xxxx, 9xxxx, or a letter prefix +5 digits (usually G or H + 5). Could it be G16831? Can you post photos please?

Yeah, invalid serial number. The serial number on an Axis Super Sport (ASS) should be on the neck plate. Dr Kev listed all the valid formats above.

Tony- can you post a picture of the guitar?

Someone could have swapped out the neck plate, maybe the original one was cracked or broken. Post some pics like others have asked.
