First of all good day to all, I'm new to the forum.
I've recently stumbled across an EBMM Axis model which I'm debating on whether or not to buy (wife will NOT be happy). The thing that is putting me off is that the guitar has push-push coil splits and a tone control which I know is not standard; I'm rather sure the guitar is original, the neck is an absolute visual dream, colour is flame tobacco sunburst with matching headstock, serial is G31975. Could it possibily be that the original owner drilled a hole for the tone control and modded the taps ?

I already know the production date of my candy red silhouette special (10/17/95) but I don't know what wood
is used in the body (ash, alder or mahogany?). Could you please let me know what the body wood of my Silo Spec is?

This guitar was definitely sent out as a regular Axis, so the coil tap and tone control must have been added afterward.
