Serial number С 005523. Please tell us the information: year of manufacture, color and material of the deck

This one isn't coming up in the database, can you double check the serial number? It could be pre/early Ernie Ball, unfortunately we don't have production records for those as the database didn't come around until the late 1980s after Ernie Ball took over. It should be the prefix letter "C" and 5 number digits if it's a newer Ernie Ball instrument.

Hello,

I have a Ernie Ball Axis with the serial number G42767, would you be able to date this for me ?

Thanks in advance!

This Axis was completed on February 24th, 2009. The color is Translucent Red with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to Guitar Shop.

He took off the neck. On the deck date is July 25, 1984. The color of the deck is natural. But there are traces of paint (red color). So I'm wondering what color the deck was original. Tell me, please, from what date is the pre-Erni ball considered, and with which Ernie Ballll? :) Thanks in advance for the answer :)
Now the bass is in repair for the master. Maybe the serial number is wrong and looks like this C 05523 ( Music Man Sabre )

The serial number database only goes back to 1987 as it was started after Ernie Ball took over the company. Ernie Ball StingRay basses began production on January 1st, 1984 and the first Sabre bass under the Ernie Ball Music Man name shipped on July 12th, 1984 according to the history archive. I tried the serial C05523 and it didn't yield anything in the serial number database. Since this one is dated July 25th, 1984, it wouldn't have been inputed into the serial number database as it didn't exist at that time. The Music Man Bass reference website shows one trans red Sabre at the bottom of the "SERIALS Pre-EB" page, http://musicmanbass.org/mycustompage0052.htm, so it's possible it was originally red but we don't have the official information.

#94400 EB Silhouette

This Silhouette was completed on December 3rd, 1993. The color is Teal with the Rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped as an SSS pickup configuration so the humbuckers and coil tap may have been added after. It was originally shipped to Strings & Things.

Many thanks. Curiously it now has a beautifully figured Musicman Maple capped fingerboard/neck (no skunk stripe). It was like this when I first saw it in a local music shop back in 1998 when I couldn't afford it. :(

I take it it was factory fitted with the Musicman Floyd? Do you know what color scratchplate it would have had when new?

Thanks again much appreciated

Keith

It would have been fitted with the Floyd Rose from factory. The pickguard information wasn't inputed into the database at that time, but in the early 90s the Teal Silhouette Models shipped mostly with a black pickguard.

It still has a black pickguard. Intrigued how it became a maple neck with humbuckers. Will see if Strings & Things can shed any light on it. Once again many thanks for your help with this.

Cheers
