Hi,

Could I get a DOB for my Axis, Serial# G04096 ?
Also, could you tell me if it came from the factory with the pickguard?

Thanks in advance,
Rob

Rob,

This is an interesting one. Yes, for a short time we were making Axis models in opaque black with a cream pickguard. As I write this I am staring at one we have hanging on the wall in our office. We didn't sell too many of these, I would fathom a guess at less than 20 or so, if that. The date this one was completed is 10/29/98, before the Axis SuperSport was introduced. All the ones that were made were probably made around this time.

Almost forgot - this was shipped to a store called Charlie Daniels Music in Fresno, CA.

Very cool ~

Lenny,

Wow, what a nice tiger stripe flame pattern! This is not even a premium top. That is pretty. Your gold Axis was completed on 10/10/02 and was originally shipped on 11/27/02 to a store called Hugga Guitar (really!) in New Brunswick, Canada, now out of business. I bet there's a story behind this one ....

I just bought a EBMM EVH on ebay and was wondering you could give me some info on it. What ever info you can give me would be appreciated.

Serial number: 86224

Thanks in advance,

I wouldn't be too concerned yet. After all, the guitar sure looks pristine. Have you received it yet? Perhaps he gave you the wrong serial number.

I have received the guitar and it is almost perfect. Plays great. If you go on the ebay link above there is a picture with the serial number on it. I can double check the serial number when I get home but I am sure it is right. It doesn't look like the neck or neckplate has ever been removed from the guitar.

Andy, yes, there it is, clear as daylight. Not sure what the deal is - it's possible we may have duplicated the numbers in our database, but it is also possible that the guitar neck plate could have been switched, even though it may not be apparent. Not sure what the motive would be to do that, though.

Anyway, what a fabulous guitar!!!

Thanks I love the guitar. It feels and plays great. Do you think there is any reason at all to be concerned though about the serial number though? I hope I didn't buy something that wasn't the real thing. Is there any other way to check if the guitar is the real tthing?

Thanks for your help,
Andy

Andy,

I will look into it.

Thanks Dan I appreciate it. I am just curious, but did the EVH's and the Luke's have the same metal plates that the serial numbers were stamped on to? I know the EVH's had the metal plate with the two guys holding guitars on it, but did the Luke's have the same plate design?
