Are you sure of the serial number? Nothing is coming up in our database for that one.

Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your fast answer.

Yes, I'm really sure. It doesn't seem to be replaced, its all original.
The former owner hasn't the possiblity to check the store he bought this guitar.
I know that ist possibel to replace the neckplate, maybe there's an number on the neck, but I think it's to dangerous to damage something.
Is there another chance to get the production day of this guitar?
I do not think that this Guitar is not original, the sound, the mechanics, neck, Tremelo is perfect and signed by Music Man . So what to do?

Thanks

Duo,

It would appear so. We show the DOB as 7/20/94 and originally sent to a store in Central Illinois that is now OOB.

Cheers,

Dan

Hi, all!

I just got here. Here are the serials of my MM guitars. Please, assist me to
find out the production date of:

1. MUSICMAN AXIS SPORT, s.n.: A92638
2. MUSICMAN AXIS, s.n. A80182
3. MUSICMAN JP Signature, s.n.: G26555

I also like to know, what is the original fret wire used on the AXIS
(in case I need to replace the frets due of wear).

Thanks a lot in advance!

Best regards - Jordan J.

Thanks Dan!

It all adds up. I bought it in chicago. I only bought a hard tail cause it was the only EVH I could find at the time. I noticed that the guy that has the awsome 70+ guitar collection has a purple evh hardtail on he's new arival list at he's website. I have really enjoyed this forum. thanks for all the help.

Observer, this is a tough one, and I am still trying to figure this one out (as the hound dog puts on his detective hat). To date we have only officially made 12 guitars exactly like yours (with the same options), and none of them have that serial number, in fact that serial number doesn't appear anywhere. Did you purchase it new? It would help to know the history of the guitar.

Jordan, the information (born dates) are above. Should you ever need new fret wire for one of your guitars, we will have it. Just let us know.

Cheers!

Hi Dan,

I bought this Guitar at ebay, and the former owner bought it at ebay USA too.
So there's a long way til this guitar came to me. The former owner has no possiblity to check out where the guitar comes from because he got no feedback at ebay from the original owner.
Maybe the neckplate was changed from anybody, and one of your 12 listed guitars do not exist anymore in your database, I don' t know.

Thanks a lot, and we stay in contact

Observer, the neck plate swap is something I had thought about also, the problem is that the serial number doesn't appear anywhere, for any instrument. It looks like a case of mis-entry (as in transposed numbers) or no entry on this one. But knowing it was probably originally shipped to somewhere in the U.S. is helpful. Thanks.

Hi Dan,

thanks for your fast answer.
The only thing a know, that the former owner bought this guitar at ebay USA, so it was shipped from USA to Germany. He told me that this was about 15 months ago.
I do not know how long the person who bought this guitar first in USA owns from purchase til selling at ebay. I think this guitar is about 3 years old. There's nearly no damage, no scratches and looks beautilful, looks like new. And Sound is great :) !

See ya,
