hobo,

This classic Trans Red Silhouette in the HSS configuration has a production date of 2/6/91. We show it as a trem model (it should be a Schaller tremolo) with a rosewood fretboard. It was originally shipped to our distributor in the UK. Is this yours? If so - picture please!

Dan

:D :D

Hey Den!
Everything is right. This second hand Silho is bought in Glasgow, 2/06.

With best regards from San Petersburg, Russia

Please tell me the DOB of my new to me Silhouette Special #G24836.

Thanks!

Sure, the production date of your beauty is 7/2/04. Our records show it as an SSS trem in Carbon Blue Pearl, maple neck, matching headstock, abalone pickguard - one of my favorite combos! Bet it's sweet ... :)

Hi,

Can I get the DOB on my Axis Sport please -- G16806.

Can you also find out which store it came from?

Many thanks.
Mervin

Mervin, your Sunburst/trem Axis Sport was completed on 10/19/01 and was originally sent to the Twelfth Fret in Toronto. Nice!

ernie,

#86010 was built on 8/9/94 - (did Dudley tell you it was the 10th EVH in natural finish?) sent to Corner Music in Nashville, Tennessee;

#86031 is a Trans Blue EVH built on 7/21/94 and was shipped to the Netherlands;

#90740 is an HSS/tremolo Silhouette in Sunburst/Maple and this one was originally shipped to King James Music (now just Kings Music) on the legendary Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.

All reet! Hope that helps!

All the best,

Dan

Thanks, but #'s 86010 and 86031 are not EVH's they are Silo's before they were officially named Silhouette They have the old EBMM logo on the headstock, don't say Silhouette and have the serial #'s stamped on the back of the headstock, not in the neckplate.
Here's a pic so you know what I'm talkin' 'bout.

I guess there was some serial # overlap early on.

ernie,

Yes, I didn't catch that the all of the ones you were asking about were Silhouettes, I stand corrected. :rolleyes:

Yes, there was serial number duplication. The earlier serial numbers were not recorded into the same database as we were using a little later, they were put into a different one (remember "Filemaker Pro" - Apple IIe version, anyone?). As we later went to enter the old serial numbers into the new database, we found the duplication, and by that time it was too late to do anything about it as both guitars had already left the factory in many cases. So it was decided to leave the newer ones in. I doubt if there is a reliable database that has any records of the original Silos whose serial numbers were later usurped by the EVH ones. It's kind of a shame, but at the time I guess no one thought it would be an issue. Remember, we'd only making Music Man guitars for a few years, and the record-keeping was not the best in those days.

Hey Kevin, your Silhouette left the factory on 11/6/91 and was shipped to long-gone Ligon Guitars in Orient, IL. We called the finish Sunburst back then, but it was always really a honeyburst. It left the factory as an HSS, but because the the pickguard assemblies swap out in Silhouettes really easily, it must have been switched to an HH configuration at some point - possibly at the store. The body would be southern ash, and the neck should be maple.

Nice piece I bet! Arf! ;)

Candid, this thread is OK for that info. But are you sure your numbers aren't turned around? Or perhaps somebody switched the neckplates.

According to our records,Your guitar's stats are:

G16689 - Completed on 9/1/01, Autumn Redburst, sent to a GC.

G11774 - Completed on 8/30/00, Blue Pearl, sent to Mid-Michigan Music.

Hope that helps - or perhaps it confuses the issue? :confused:
