Hey Kevin, your Silhouette left the factory on 11/6/91 and was shipped to long-gone Ligon Guitars in Orient, IL. We called the finish Sunburst back then, but it was always really a honeyburst. It left the factory as an HSS, but because the the pickguard assemblies swap out in Silhouettes really easily, it must have been switched to an HH configuration at some point - possibly at the store. The body would be southern ash, and the neck should be maple.

Nice piece I bet! Arf! ;)

Dan

Thanks for the info Dan. It is a beauty, I knew I had to have it the minute I saw it.

DOB Please on the New (old) Axis Sport I just got today. It is Silver, with the 2- P90's, and looks 99% new, with the beautiful original case. It was originally bought Nov. 1999. The S/N is G05660.

All I can say is wow! A professional quality instrument, better than I deserve, but, I got it for a good price (I hope..). I only needed to raise the action just a tad, to stop light buzzing, but it is still lower action than my Tele. Plays great.

Anyway, I am new to this forum.

PS - Is the noise reduction in all pickup positions, or only the middle one? It seems very quiet (no buzzing) in all switch positions.

Thanks,

VW

Perth is lovely, the last time i was there i bought an Ibanez. so as you can imagine its a dark period of my life i'd rather forget.

Hey Robelinda (is Rob ok ?),
Yep, another Aussie here - in Perth.

LOL at the Ibanez comment..........
But I must admit I still love my original JS1.

Quick summary of my 3 Favourites :

ESP Eclipse II = Top Fuel Drag Car :)
Ibanez JS1 = Porsche (albeit Japanese !?)

EBMM Axis = Porsche with Top Fuel Engine !!! :D

I wish I had a JS model with a stop tail bridge, its was the JS6 or something?? Totally over the recessed floyds. Used to own a JS100 and JS1000 years ago. love the satch tone, and boy did those guitars have it!!!!! would like to get a JS2000 with the fixed bridge, but dont see em very often on ebay in Oz.

I Completely agree.
The satch tone is exclusive, but the recessed Floyd gives more grief than glory.
Anyways, back to EBMM's - - - - - - - -
Can't stop looking at the new Axis - just love it.

starsky,

Your trans gold Axis, which we show as a non-tremolo (rare), was completed and shipped to our UK distributor on 8/22/97.

VW,

Welcome!

Your Axis Sport was completed on 2/25/99 and sent to a dealer called Medicine Man Music in Fort Myers, Florida, who closed their doors in 2001. The finish is called Pearl Platinum.

The Silent Circuit on those guitars works only in the bridge and neck positions. In the middle position there is no need, since two single coil pickups running at once in parallel cancels out hum.

Nice guitar! (of course!)
