Serial Numbers : What is the production date of my guitar?

One other thing I forgot to ask, and I don't know if this is the right spot to ask, but here goes: How many blue dawn silhouettes were made? I had the hardest time finding one.

analogimage - the Silhouttes have been ordered in far fewer numbers than the John Petrucci models, so it is not likely to change a whole lot. The number stands at about 6 Silhouettes in the Blue Dawn LE finish. No wonder it was so hard to find one. In fact, if you would have insisted on a standard non-trem version - you'd still be looking. That's right - all half-dozen or so are tremolo, and out of those, only 1 is recorded as having a piezo bridge.

It is Sunday today in US, so it's no surprise they have day off you'll get your DOBs when they are back on Monday

to analogmage: I think it's been said that all the statistics would be available as soon as 2007LE production is over...which is in the end of 2007 I'm also curious how many JP2007 has been made

emkey - the number of JP-6's are likely to still rise slightly, but right now the number built stands at about 175.

Hey, to Dan or whoever responds. I've got a 2nd hand 20th Sihouette with piezo coming in the next week...the serial number is G27460. I'm just curious if this is a premium top or a standard top? Thanks, hope you guys had a good weekend and some nice weather...we got a bunch of snow coming down here!

Phil, the top on this one is not an upgrade top, but a lot of the tops on those rivalled the upgrade tops.

It's colder here but nothing like snow - we have to drive to the mountains (2-3 hours away) for that! Build a snowman for me, willya?

BTW your new guitar was complete on 11/16/06 and was originally shipped the Perfect Guitar.

Well, that serial number references a John Petrucci guitar with piezo bridge, Pearl Redburst finish, matching headstock and the JP pearl inlays built on Feb 16, 2006.

Larry, congrats on your guitars!

Luke I serial # A91365 - Completed Sept 5 1997 and shipped to our German distributor.

Silhouette (Actually a Silhouette Special, one of the first) HSS #96712 - Completed June 27 1995 and also shipped to our German distributor, Musik Meyer. The finish is called Pearl Green, one of the original 3 finishes offered on the that guitar - the other two were Pearl Purple and Candy Red.

I have an EB Silhouette (green/blue with black pickguard) which I've played since around 1996 (I think).

Serial: # 89252

It was bought second hand from a relative who worked for a music dealer in Oslo, Norway. Would be great to know when it was actually made.

What you have here is a sort of vintage piece: Silhouette HSS in Trans Teal (ash body), solid maple neck, originally completed January 9, 1990, and shipped to our Norwegian distributor.

And now we're up to gate for the the moment I hope! <Whew!>

No, it isn't - but as I mentioned in an earlier post, a pretty good percentage of the "ordinary" tops were borderline premium tops. I saw quite a few of the ones that left here, and so many of them were gorgeous!
