Thank you so much, A.J.!

Do you think it's normal that the 4th string has a little higher action in comparison to other strings?
The compensated nut is really fantastic: the pitch is correct in every part of the fretboard.

Mobile, since our guitars are all set up by hand individually, the way it plays pretty much supercedes any of the "specs" we use, and it seems probable in this case that the setup tech may have liked the way it played and left it alone. If you like the way it plays on thet string, all is well, but if not, you can lower the 4th string bridge saddle accordingly.

Dave,

Here's the pertinent info: Your Silhouette 20th (G27167) is NOT a premium top , so that doesn't explain the sucky top :D.... it was completed on 7/27/06 and was sent to New York Music in Boardman, Ohio.

G11588 was shipped to Mike's Music in Thorold, Ontario
88951 was shipped to Steve's Music Montreal

odur,

Here are the dates of EBMM guitars:

John Petrucci signature: G35509 - completed on 5/23/07

Steve Morse Y2D: G23265 - completed on 03/01/06

The StingRay II guitars (made before Ernie Ball acquired Music Man), along with their StingRay I counterparts, were in production from 1976 - 1980 with the majority being built in the 77-79 period, according to the best information we can confirm. Actual production records do not exist.

All reet!
