Serial Numbers : What is the production date of my guitar?

Hello all. New member here. I just picked up my EB SM Y2D (Purple Sunset) at the local Long and McQuade here in Edmonton. Waited 6 months and damn the wait was well worth it. I've been playing an LP Deluxe for for 30 years, and until recently was my only electric guitar. As soon as I picked up the Music Man and started to play it was almost like playing the only guitar that I know. Quite amazing to be honest. I had my doubts it would feel this good. I bought it without even playing one or seeing it live (except for Steve Morse when he came to town a few years ago with DP).

I'd like to know what my guitar's Birthday is and any other info that can be shared please.

Hi,

my serial number: 42668

I think the bass was produced in 1994, but I am not sure. Any ideas? Thanks

My JP is serial #G27892 I believe it is a JP6 model verification and date of birth would be much appreciated
