Since I bought my EB Silhouette almost 2 years ago, I've had the trem "bottomed out" against the body instead of letting it float. I did this because I bend a lot of strings and occaisionally tune down to dropped D tuning.

Lately, it's been getting harder and harder to keep the guitar well adjusted. I prefer a relatively straight neck and higher action. When I try to set up my guitar this way, the allen screws on the bridge saddles are max'd out- and I'd still like to go higher.

Getting the intonation right is also a problem. I'm able to set the intonation- but the adjustments are very extreme.

Am I having these problems because the trem wasn't designed to play in this position?

Thanks,
Bender

The trem on your guitar is designed to lay flat on the body. The factory specs for string height are about 2/32 at the 12th fret. If you like your action higher you may need to change the saddle height screws. I am out of the office until Tuesday, but give me a call then and I can arrange to send you some taller set screws. 1 866 823-2255 ext 237

Jon,

Will petrucci saddles fit on the vintage trem? Just out of curiosity, optherwise I might spring for some graphtechs for my Silo when it gets here. The modern style of the petrucci saddles is hella comfy, as I dislike those set screws digging into my palm....

THanks!

Hey Jon...I have never tried the Jp's on any other bridge, but I would think it would work.

Hmm. I might have to obtain some....replacements....hehehe....sometime in October (pretty much when I should have it....which is cool)....hehehe. :D

I was thinking that the intonation screws might be of different sizes tho' no? Considering that the tail end of the Pet Bridge is shorter than the vintage...or is an illusion?
