Since I bought my EB Silhouette almost 2 years ago, I've had the trem "bottomed out" against the body instead of letting it float. I did this because I bend a lot of strings and occaisionally tune down to dropped D tuning.
Lately, it's been getting harder and harder to keep the guitar well adjusted. I prefer a relatively straight neck and higher action. When I try to set up my guitar this way, the allen screws on the bridge saddles are max'd out- and I'd still like to go higher.
Getting the intonation right is also a problem. I'm able to set the intonation- but the adjustments are very extreme.
Am I having these problems because the trem wasn't designed to play in this position?
Thanks,
Bender
