I just got my trans teal Sterling HH in this week (I don't have photos which is why I haven't mentioned it), and the action is just a bit higher than I like. I've been reluctant to mess with it because it sounds so damn good the way it is. By my measurement it's 4/32" at the 12th fret. Usually, I go with 3/32". The EB website suggests rotating the wheel cw to lower the strings, but I seem to recall Jon stating that the saddles should be lowered rather than the wheel rotated. I rotated the wheel one "hole" cw and left it at that. Any thoughts? If you're going to tell me to leave it as it is, believe me, I'm considering it. This baby smokes, and while I can live with some buzzing to get low action, I don't know. This thing is the schnitz.

Depends on the situation really. I usually set my relief to very very little and then lower the saddles until they buzz, then raise a bit till they stop buzzing.

The neck probably changed due to a climate change. I think in this case a tweek of the truss rod will work.

Thanks, Jon. Like I said, I rotated it one "hole" cw, so think after I let it be another day, I'll maybe go one more. Man, is this baby sweet. Mister Bongo's going to have to be patient now. I did notice him glaring at the new kid as I put it on the stand.

This is how I set up my bass. It keeps the action as low as possible.

First I lower the saddles untill I get buzz at the higher frets then back them off till the buzz is gone.

Next I tighten the trus rod untill I get buzzes at the lower frets and then I back it off untill the fret buzz is gone.
