Seymour Duncan SH6-B Duncan Distortion Trembucker for My SUB1

Well I've been trying to find a Dimarzio DP 155 F-spaced for my Sub 1, but some one told me about the Seymor Duncan SH6-B Duncan Distortion Trembucker...any thoughts...oh I'm a metal head BTW, melodic not that NU-crap!

I have an SH6 distortion in my silo special and it rocks, I hear the super distortion is a bit hotter and tighter if thats possible so I would go for it -

Duncan doesn't make F spaced pups. THey make Trembuckers....they don't make a Super Distortion. That's DiMarzio's bag, the Duncan Distortion as Lock mentioned is the SH-6 (the B denotes 'bridge' and is spaced for the Gibson style tune o matic). For the Trembucker version, it'd actually code out to something like the TB-6. That's the one you want for the bridge. That's the Duncan Distortion Trembucker. Had one it's kinda sucky for clean sounds tho'....gainy, it handles no problem tho'. I personally like for the bridge, a custom-custom or custom 5 w/ a jazz in the neck.

I had a feeling you'd find this post...I'm trying to find the Tone Zone, and I think I may have to buy it from the US somewhere, I was just inquiring...I have asked the guy who is selling the SD pickup questions about my guitar and the SD pickup...so I haven't committed...from what I read, the Tone Zone still sounds like my kinda pick-up, I just wanted to see what else is out there...

They make a distortion distortion or a super distortion or a double distortion or something that is a hotter tighter pup, I think you would be happy with that, somone on the peavey forum just posted about it and said it was hotter and tighter than the SH6, and mine is trem spaced as well which they say sounds a bit different, so look into that, I will try to find it and post back for you -

Thanks, I told the guy that I was unsure...I looked into what OC said and they are called SH-6 Duncan Distortion, and the Trembuckers are for axes with trems, although, I want to be sure this aligns well with my trem, cause it isn't a Floyd.
Again, I really appreciate you guys helping, it makes a world of difference. I must say that the stock PUPS on the SUB 1 satisfy me, greatly...but its always that 'unknown' that intrigues us....

Trembuckers wlign better with ALL trems. Same w/ the Dimarzio F-spaced (contrary to popular belief F-Spaced doesn't mean Floyd Spaced....it means Fender Spaced due to the width of the Fender trems....it just works well w/ all trems) models. You can use the standard spacing for the neck slot, tho I have used F spaced in both positions before.

Jon correct me if I'm wrong, EBMM does this w/ all their pups?

Late!

Lock,

The Dimebucker is a hotter version of the DD and the Invader (they morphed the two....)

I actually played the dimebucker and I felt it was not as hot as my duncan distortion, although I might be crazy, the duncan distortion is the hottest pup made by duncan that I have tried as of yet aside form the invader which is a pile of mush, I also played the bill lawrence that the dimebucker was modeled after and it didnt seem as hot either, for sustain and crunch the DD is a great pup, but I did see a post a few weeks ago on another site that was talking about a duncan super distortion or a distortion distortion that doesnt seem to be on their web site so maybe its a pup they dont carry anymore, but something did exist, there was once a guitar tech that was trying to sell me a duncan that I had not seen on their site either, so who knows, but either way go with the DD trem spaced and it will fit and sound great, they are very clean sounding in an alder guitar, they sound awesome in a paul and im sure they will sound good in a poplar body as well, just be sure to play well :)

Wow, great feedback...ok does Dimebucker stand for Dimarzio Humbucker? ( Never mind it must be named after some dude named Dimebag)

Raz I was giving the duncan distortion good press when I was saying the DD is a great pup, I really think you wont like the dimebucker, go check out one of his washburn guitars and see for yourself, if you wanna check out the duncan distortion see the high end schecters or the papa roach guitar with the roach on it, they have a distortion in the bridge, but the dimebucker was just OK, I played the sub and the stock pups are hotter than the dimebucker -

Lock,

Keep in mind different pups, sound different in different guitars....wayyyyyy different. Body wood plays a big part that is really too big to go unheeded.
