I am going to order an albert lee. Can any of you experienced players comment on the difference between the seymour duncan and mm90 pickups? I am primarily a bass player but have got major GAS for the albert lee...it fits like a glove. I am looking for a versatile sound in blues/funk/rock/country.

Thanks for your help.

Bob

i have a les paul with duncan custom p90s and an axis super sport with MM90s so i have some experience here. Main thing to note is that my Les Paul hangs on the wall and has become an expensive decoration but i play the Super Sport all the time.

Anywho ... i have some sound clips here of the Axis Super Sport w/ the MM90s vs. the Les Paul w/ P90s. The clips are of the bridge pup only w/ distortion so I dunno if theyre gonna be exactly what you wanna hear but i figured its better than nothing:

So,

I've had an Axis Sport with the MM90s on and I now have an AL.

I'd have to say that if you're going to have just the obe decent guitar go for the MM90's they're tremendously versatile pickups capable of covering a lot of bases.

I'm in the lucky position of having an Axis that deals with the fatter, thicker end of the spectrum, and the Albert which deals with the other side of things.

I can honestly say that if I was forced to have just the one Ball (oohh err) that an MM90 loaded Axis or AL would be the weapon of choice just because it really can do it all and do it really well. These pickups are so versatile

Good luck with your purchase soldier

I have found the SSS config on my AL to be very versatile, if I want more from it I'll up the ante using the Pod and the gain on the Marshall.
However an MM90 equiped AL would be a nice acquisition!!!

thanks for the info

Thanks a lot guys. I ordered a Dargie Delight w/ tremolo and the single coils. I love the color and have long preferred rosewood fretboards. Now I just have to be patient. Also need to sell a couple of items to pay for the beast.
