[Purple ASS]

A bit nepotistic I know, but never mind My Son's band In Mono were joint winners in a local Battle of the Bands final on Friday night. At 15 years old they were some of the youngest there. They write all their own material and only found out a couple of days earlier that they were required to play at least one cover. They put on a powerful performance and had great support from loads of their school mates. The judges were a local musician called Ray Russell that some may know for his work with Simon Phillips and Mo Foster. Another judge, Graham Gould worked with Peter Grant and Led Zep. They were both really complimentary about the boys. Chris, my lad was also nominated best drummer. Anyway the plug is that they are appearing on local radio this evening at 6pm (UK time) so if you are awake then please tune in and have a listen. Given their young age they indeed are pretty awesome...who am I kidding, it's got nothing to do with their age...they are just a great sounding and tight band! Congrats to the proud daddy (and your son as well!).

Yes, and the music for 'A Touch of Frost'. He was originally a member of John Barrys band and recorded many of the Bond themes with him. Also done stuff with Luke, Simon Phillips, Anthony Jackson and many others. He's a really great guy who I've known since my son joined a music developement group 4 years agothat Ray was helping to run.
