I would like the answer to that too my friend, im looking for sheet music, as in music notation rather than tab, but still I find that I have to search around for google to find it, then work it out and listen to see if its right or not, and half the time I end up with piano scores to the songs I want to try...

What's sheet music?

Actually I have sheet music for centerfold...I can find it for you...it's here somewhere...

But I never use music or tabs, I find that using your ear and spending a bit more time is much more rewarding.

thanks

Thanks for the info guys! I'm a new player and by ear...figuring things out is quite hard...I imagine as I get better that will be alot easier for me.....however now I'm trying to learn songs by buying published books due to the poor quality of the tab sites....if anyone has that j. giles song...I'd much appreciate the if you emailed it to me! thanks!

I'm going to suggest learning it by ear also. You will get better faster if you spend the time with the tune and learn it by ear. Since you're a new player, that tune might be more difficult for you. Try something easier.

A good thing to do is try to figure out children's tunes on your bass. You already know the tunes in your head, find the notes on your bass. Do London Bridge, Row Row Your Boat, etc. It's good practice.

I agree, every musician should be able to read. However, it is also vital to develop your ear to transcribe. I recommend trying that with Centerfold. You will find the more you do it, the easier it gets and it will help greatly if someone calls out a request on the fly and you need to fake it.
