I think it's just an illusion. I suppose she's a petite little lady, so the Stingray looks huge.

Seriously, it used to have this brocade look to it, like an old French house of ill repute.

Like a sort of roped binding? It has a fancy top from the look of the pic. She needs a stealth Bongo, no? She shouldn't have to compete, visually, with her own ax. OOpss. Forgot. In youth culture, the stealth look means 'Goth'. Maybe a dark Bongo like a Rolls Burg'y or that deep dark blue. Hey, we could publish a paper doll set, with various bass chix and various basses to hang on them? Did I mention clothes? I suppose for the proodische, there could be a set with clothes.

That bass was under construction shortly after I took my post at EB. I believe that the body is the same size as a regular SR, but the finish was all hand applied by Dudley and one of our fine artists. It was a cherub printed cloth with a rope binding around the top and back, as Jack said the "House of Ill Repute" finish. I believe Tacky Glue was used...

Another interesting tid bit- I believe we actually made two of these. The first one got to Sheryl and it didn't sound anything like her #1 StingRay. We thought maybe the custom finish may of done something to the tone... But turns out, it was not the same weight as her main bass. So we found another body that weighed in about the same and viola! a happy Sheryl.

I wasn't directly involved, so I hope Dudley or Sterling will correct me if I'm wrong on any of the details...
