Well, two days ago, I got a text massage from my teacher that woke me up that said "Your Petrucci is in the store".

I Jumped out of bed, called my dealer, and got confirmation that it is true, and that my guitar has arrived.
I drove up there immediately, and i have been pretty much playing her for two days straight. This guitar is Unbeliveble. The neck, the pickups, the piezo, and my GOD, the color... the past 7 months of anticipation have left my mind completely, all that matters is that she's here. :)

Now, for the pictures. i've been having a bit of camera problem, so i hope i could get some up tommorow. all i've got now is this one:

Egyptian Smoke is really growing on me! It's looking at all these funny things with 6 strings that does it, as I think it's a finish that suits guitars better than basses... not sure why..

But she's a stunner :) 7 strings is just too weird tho ;)

Thanks for the pics - I really like the Egyptian Smoke colour - every time I watch Score (about every other night at the minute) I start coveting the Egyptian Smoke JP uses for the Root of All Evil...

How do you find playing the 7 strings? Do you play 6 strings too? What was the transition like?

I had a 7 string JEM Universe once but I couldn't get on with the neck - it seemed so wide compared to my 6 strings.

But I would really like to check out a JP7 as I like my sixes so much...

Well, actually, this is my first 7 string, i've been playing 6's for about 5 years, and decided that i really want a seven, so i jumped in, and i have to say that that was one of my best decisions yet. the 7th string really gives you a lot more options in scale positions and arrpegios (And it's ****ing heavy!), and the transition went really smooth, took me only a few hours of some hard playing to get used to it, and the neck really dosn't feel that big to me...
