Ok, I have my Stingray and it's beautiful hardshell case. But if I were to ship this to someone what would be the best way? I don't want to just slap a shipping tag to the case and hope for the best.

Is there anywhere I can find a box that goes around the case? How does EB/MM ship their basses?

Or do I have to resort to taking a bunch of cardboard boxes and breaking them down, then wrapping them around the case?

hit up your local music store (GC, samash, etc.) and ask for a box. Then just wrap the case up in some bubble wrap, slap a fragile sticker on the box and you should be all set.

Oh and you should also put a sheet of bubble wrap or something between the fingerboard and the strings. You never know how much is going to get loaded up on top of your box and if by any chance its enough to have the strings pushed down on the fingerboard it might mark things up a bit.

if its a limited edition case i suggest double card board boxes with bubble wrap in between. also you gotta make sure the bass cant move inside the case, or else the case will be broken from the inside. the strap clip on the end of the bass will snap that plywood in half in no time!

ps: need i mention insured shipping? ;)
