Hi Guys n Gals!

I called into Soundcontrol (probably the closest we have to GC) on Saturday to try out a tasty Stingray HS... after not really being 100% into it (and the £1400 price tag) i asked the "bass expert" if they could get me a sterling in to try.

"The Sterlings are being discontinued" was the reply..

I asked him to confirm what he said, "are you sure you dont mean the SUB range??" to which he confirmed his 1st statement..... he then tried to sell me a 5 string Sp*ctor... i got up and walked away with a slightly insane smile

now.... somebody tell me it was all a horrible dream!!!!!! is this guy for real????!!!

love

I seriously doubt that Music Man is going to discontinue the Sterling, they just released the new Sterling 5 in January at NAMM. I hope they arent being discontinued, Im about to buy a Sterling HH ( If I can find one with a maple board and matching headstock! )

* I'm sure BP or someone from Ernie Ball / Music Man will chime in very soon to put this to rest.

I'm in sales and I can speak with authority on this one....

What he did is a classic trick from the salesguy 101 manual...... if you don't know the answer, make one up.;):D

P.S. I thought the Sterling line was being discontinued ONLY after Fender buys EB!?!?!?!:p

A couple of years ago, I had some clown at GC actually tell me that Fender *had* bought EBMM . . . . so never say never!
