The Ashdown arrives tomorrow morning at work, and I'll give it a run in the evening.

I haven't heard the ABM series yet, but I think that's the pro-level bass head.

I'll post the results here...

WELL?!??

Sounds good at low volume, but I was afraid to open 'er up (neighbors).

Very promising...the next gig will be the acid test!

I'm also going to pick up a Presonus TubePre for warmth control.

I have the BXT115 & BXT210 Ampeg cabs. The 115 is a bit heavy for me but it's easier to haul than the SVT610 I sold to get them. What is nice about this combo is the 210 is a wedge as well so it tilts up at your head rather than at your ankles & is good for small gigs or even gigs where you're run through a sound system. It handles the lows quite well for a 210.

Okay, that is very good advise...
I'm just returning from the store, wanted to check them out... the
SVT410HLF is way too heavy, out of the question (too bad).
So that leaves me with BSE410HLE, which is still a hefty 91 lbs. or
SVT115 and 210HE, both at 8 ohms, so that would work, I guess?
or should I consider the BSE410 and BSE 115? a BXT combination would be too
costly. This is getting difficult, which one would work/sound the best...?

Maybe...

you need 2 2X10s! Each at 8 ohms, use 1 for small gigs and combine them for more wattage and coneage (new word!) at larger affairs. Just an idea.

Sounds great, but is only a 100 watts. But the tone kills. :D

Well.......I'm going to get a 410HLF tomorrow to go with my Fender Bassman 400H which will be my "more portable" rig. While it is a bit heavy......A) it's set up like a dolly...it can be pulled up steps & slid down them because it's got skid plates on the back. It's pretty east to pick up and put in a truck by yourself. I had the 610HLF & it wasn't bad but being bigger it was a little to bulky to handle by one person. The 410HLF is much more managable than you think. Trying to lug a standard upright cab on anything but smooth ground is a bit of a chore. As I said the 410 is like a dolly, tilt back & pull.....no worries about a wheel getting caught in a crack in the pavement...etc. Oh & did I mention....Monster Sound?
