not sure about this one but a friend of a friend has a svt2-pro that he will sell to me for 7 bills... he says the whole amp has been checked by a pretty well known local amp tech here and that it works perfect.

I checked harmony central and a some people there say its un-reliable but I like tube amps and wondering if I should do this....

need opinions on this one,,, thanks you T

I know but its one of them things that might be too good of a deal to pass up.. plus I heard the sound is different than my boogie and now can be a good time to find out...

its either that or buy a HH stingray..

So get the bloody bass, man:D

Seriously, I very much doubt the svt2 will become some kind of collectors item, and your mesa does the tube stuff soo well. No it won't sound like an Ampeg, just as it won't sound like a Traynor, Orange or other all-tube amp, but buying a dinky amp because of that? Nah...

won't mention what I want here but I'm a lurking around that thread let me tell ya!

SR 4 HH? Check out Du Baldo. Very nice natural HH their for sale. I just passed on it because the shipping was way too expensive.

I seen that! but I already had the natural SR4 and even though I love the wood tones I like them in darker shades,, I'm after a vintage or tobacco burst..

Ill go against the crowd, and say that Id get the Ampeg.

I like tube amps, and the Ampeg WILL give you a different flavor than the Mesa.

Im not a huge Ampeg fan, but think the all tube stuff is "the goods" of their product line.

So, how's the Fustion 550 looking to you? I'm starting to feel GAS pangs.

Don't do it! I love tubes too; and even "blems" listed by a "major online retailer" go for twice that much, BUT: Where's it made? The QC issues they have there? And...you really gotta love tubes because they're expensive, go bad, etc. (Oh, and the obvious..why's this guy wanna get rid of it...?). I love Ampegs, that's all we used in the '70s. But. That was the 70's

If your tired of the Mesa, then maybe you should just sell/trade it for the Ampeg, that way you can still buy the Stingray HH

I love my Ampeg SVT Classic + 810 cab

go for the ray. instruments are a better investment than amps. ampegs are much like GKs of today. not even half as good as back in the day. Id only buy those brands if theyre vintage. you already have a mesarig which probably rocks church and the big guy in the sky.
