Here's my new toy. Sorry for the bad photo!
EVH 5150 III 50 watt mini w/ EBMM EVH

That's the exact same setup I had in mind to replace my set of amps here at home. How do you like the amp/cabinet? Can you elaborate a little on your impressions please? Thanks!

So far I'm in love with it. The clean channel is nice but channel 2 and 3 is where I'll probably be using this amp the most. Channel 2 is close to old skool EVH plexi sound while channel 3 is the EVH "modern" sound. It's got sustain for days and tons of gain. I'd say it almost sounds Bogner-ish in a way. It's amazing how much gain channel 3 has. I leave it at a little under 9 o'clock.

The matching cab works great with it. Sounds good to my ears. I like this amp because I can get a good sound at bedroom volumes. There is a volume jump between channel 1 and 2 but I'll just use another amp for a clean sound.

Reilly,

Nice set up. How do the cabs sound? I just scored a Mesa DC-5 and 2x12 vert cab but was interested in the 1x12s too.

The 1x12 theil's are really awesome, Mine are loaded with the EVM12L's and they are pretty thunderous. When I play other guitarists can't believe the sound that comes from them. My bass player said I am not allowed to sell anything because my tone sounds so huge.

After years of chasing the perfect tone I can finally say I am actually really happy with my sound, the only other amp I would like to get is the new 5150 III 50w but I will not be selling my current rig to get one.

That's my guitar and amp rig:
- Music Man Luke customized with Di Marzio HS3s and Paf pro pickups
- '89 Fender Strat (Japan!)
- Carvin MTS3200 head
- Vertigo custom cab -> it's an Italian custom brand, their factory is close to my place, so I went there and decide how to have my cab: purple tolex, 18ply birchwood, two Eminence 12" speakers (GB and V30clones) and black grill.

I had a MTS3200 that was incredible... it was my first TRUE introduction to a tube amp... my ears were never the same...
