Well i got a phone call today saying they had sold the SR5 to someone else first and they're refunding my money. Oh well.

Sorry to hear. Crappy business style if you ask me... to collect the money first and then tell the customer the item is not available anymore.

yeah i got the same phone call. I agree the practice of taking money for something they dont have is pretty crappy.

I feel equally sorry for you too then...

See, this is what I find upsetting, they are closing down shops where you can actually try before you buy, because the internet outlets are dangerously undercutting the high street stores to the point where they can't compete anymore and as a result they are closing down.

Ok someone argued that from the customer point of view, any saving is welcome and that with an Ernie Ball you don't really need to try them as the quality is usually 100% spot on BUT, then you get these online con-artists which take your cash but can't provide the goods. We are in a no win situation. Perhaps we should support our local stores more and avoid buying instruments online.

Yeah they just left me a message on my voicemail and refunded the money a couple of days later, i didn't actually make contact with them :p

Still... crap sales technique! I could have a shiny new SR5 right now :(
