I do not have one but do have a question, seen a few on Reverb most preorders but saw one that shows a G and G case, these coming with that instead of the mono cases?

Yes, although per A.J. these are NOT G&G cases. IMHO (not EBMM's words) the quality on G&G has gone to the toilet (if you got a One-piece Axis you know). But they are same style as G&G.

Here's my pink that's on its way, pretty happy with the top. Anyone know why most of the necks on the 30ths are flame maple when the originals were birdseye?

Nice Axis, congrats! The pink, gold, and purple have sold out.

The neck wood is “luck of the draw” as far as figuring goes, depending on what is currently in the factory. Flame or birdseye, these will darken up nicely when played for a while!

Thanks! Pretty excited for it. Yeah, I can't figure out why they would even consider flame when it was never the original look (EVH or early Axis) 🤷‍♂️, oh well.

All of the ones I have received so far have had amazing tops, it is definitely exciting waiting for them to arrive! A humorous response to how flamed maple necks were "never the original look" is that neither were sparkle-painted backs! It's good to see a respectful nod to the past (original colors/stains) combined with continued development (SS frets, improved hardware, etc)

I just picked up a Soldano SLO 30 and posted a photo with my 1996 Gold Axis and someone decided to go off on "EVH didn't play a SLO 30 and played an original Signature, not an Axis". It's amazing how some people just can let things go. The 30th Anniversary guitars look awesome. I would love a Purple or Blue... my only concern was the fading, but it sounds like they took steps to try and correct it on this release.

First post here, I put my name down for a purple one when I got home from NAMM. I passed on the first one, but thankfully got the next one:

As one would expect, it is absolute perfection. She is magnificent!!
Dang. I'm (im)-patiently waiting for my gold top I ordered on 4/21. The purple would have been my second choice and that top is perfection! Curious: how's the neck, Flamed or birdseye?

I haven’t seen any of these with birdseye yet. It’s one of the reasons I passed on the first one. I wanted more figure for that price. I’ve seen several of these since passing on the first one, and none of them I’ve seen have birds eye, and the flame that I have seen is pretty subtle on most. This one has noticeably more flame than the one I passed on, but it doesn’t show up well in photos. I think it’ll be more prominent as the guitar ages and gets played:

I, too, worry about the purple fading like the originals, but I couldn’t pass it up. I love the color…always have on these guitars. Any word from the factory guys on the current purple vs the OG? I’m going to keep it in its case when not played and keep it out of UV light as much as possible. But I’m also going to play the heck out of it because it is such a ridiculously great guitar.

That neck though . . . OMG. I'm dying to get the EBMM email saying: "IT'S SHIPPED." I can't wait three more months. LOL. Thanks for the photos. I simply can't wait to play it.
