I had my white fretless Bongo on order one as soon as I found out that they were finally being offered in fretless (after I broke down and bought a fretted version, of course).

I can't believe I've owned Bongos for 6 years now. Funny how the "too soft for instrument bodies" basswood is holding up just fine with no nicks or dents. Internet supergeniuses wrong? Who knew? :D

You'd think my original Black Sapphire would be in little splintered pieces by now, and yet........

Besides my 92 Stingray that I played for 5 minutes before I payed it, I got my three other EBMMs without seeing or playing them in person.

I saw the Big Al for the first time when I opened the box and I don't know any other bfr rosewoodneck bass here in germany.

And they are all good. I will do it again.

My Big AL was ordered from Ye Olde Music. At the time of its delivery, it was the only one i had ever seen or played. The color Olive Gold i had only seen once on a Bongo at Bass Central. I knew i wanted the craziest color and pickguard combo EBMM made which is why i went with it. All the other basses i have a had a chance to either play it or a similar model prior to purchacing. On a side note i think Olive Gold is the best color EB ever made and it is a real shame that it did not catch on. I sure would order a Big Al 5 H in that color today if it was available. JOSH
