No I don't believe they do... When I owned my Sil. Spec., one of the first things I did was compare it with the Axis Sport SSH, and the Silhouette Special seemed more vintage, with less output. I think that even in the SSH configuration, the Axis still has the EVH-designed Dimarzio humbucker in the bridge, and the single coils have to be strong enough to balance with that... Also, I think the Axis single coils have flat pole pieces, while the pole pieces on the singles in the Sil. Spec. were staggered, iirc... however, this is speculation on my part, conclusions drawn from my observations, and I stand ready to be corrected...Eilif said:
