I understand why they don't want to sell those proprietary parts separately, it's one of the reasons you buy a MM guitar.

That said, I love to watch eBay and Craigslist for spare parts. I've got all sorts of bits lying around that are waiting for the right projects.

that's true. I bought a fender strat yesterday as i was missing single coil sounds for blues and the like and that vintage vibe.
but then when i feel metal again i go back to my petrucci and the build feels just so superior.
don't get me wrong, fender make great guitars (i actually bought it by accident as i was led to believe fender are making ****ty guitars and when i checked it out it was FAT), but music man is just better :)

i wish i could get a S/S/S silo but i coulden't shell out another 2500$ after my petrucci.

that's the reason i WANT that silent circuit :)

Jay, yer a mad man. Nice work!

If I may shirt-tail a question here? When a battery wears completely down, is it the same as when there's no battery, it just drops out of the circuit with no effect either way?

Looks great man. It's pretty cozy in that cavity.. :)

Have you contemplated cushioning/insulating the battery so it doesn't move around? Or is it pretty stable the way it is?

Yes, exactly. Dead battery = no battery = out of circuit.

Good call- I actually have some bubble wrap around it to secure it (and insulate the the contacts from the other metal in the cavity). Just didn't include it in the photo.

I was thinking there was a switch added...

I think I'm going to start calling you Dr. FrankenBeej :D:D

nice mod, as usual. It's nice to hear the splitting option of the Morse neck humbucker works out so well. So many tonal options on this freakin' guitar and you go and open Pandora's Box :)
