I know I should have put this in the ebay thread, but this is a special Silhouette that has come up on ebay. There was recently a thread about #10 so I though I'd post this here for collectable types to take a look. I wish I had the moolah handy, if I did I'd bid on this one, It is beautiful, just look at that neck!

Serial number 86056. If I understand their serial numbering system correctly, this would be the 56th Silhouette ever made

... says the seller. Is this correct? Because we always hear, that serials are completely random.

Anyway, great guitar, nice one. I´d really wish to own such an old one, but not necessarily a silo. I would love to own such an old Morse!

I love those 6 bolters. I may go after that one. I pretty sure with the early serial numbers (stamped on the back of the neck) , the first numbers are the year. I am sure Dan could shed some light on this for us. Either way, it's destined to become a collector's item! Besides, they play great and setup nicely, (as does every EBMM I've ever played).

My 89 silo is stamped on the headstock 89209 and was made 28/11/1989. My 90 is stamped on the neck plate 90267, made 20/5/1990. If they are sequential, then they were making about 300 a year.About five years until they went 5 bolt. About 1500 made.If this is correct ,they are pretty rare. Bargains.Just checked. With my new 6 bolt, only 12 on the forum.Or maybe its 300 amonth.

this one is the twin of my 87002. somewhere along the way, the outer two pickups on mine were switched to fender lace sensors. I love the finish on these old necks and I wish it was an option these days.

I wish I got in on the ground floor with Music Man in 1988 when I bought my first Stratocaster. Damn you Ritchie Blackmore. ;)

The seller sent me pics and this Silo is indeed number 56 from the year 86, as the serieal number is stamped on the back of the headstock.

I'm surprised there isn't more interest in picking it up. Or maybe there is.....;)
