Are all silhouettes internally router'd for H-S-H?

In other words, could a silo special be converted to a straight silo by getting a new pickguard and electronics?

Just wondering in case I came across a good deal on a silo special.

Thanks in advance.

Silo Specials are routed for HSS, not HSH. Plus, as you probably know already, Silo Specials are 22 fret, whereas Silos are 24 fret.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

Yeah, I have a Godin SD and a G&L ASAT special, and I'm looking at a silo as kind of a do-all to replace these.

I like a bridge bucker, and the 2 & 4 positions of a Strat. I'm thinking the silo will cover most all the ground the other two could do.

I'm also looking for a quality USA built guitar, from a company that stands behind their product, which it appears EBMM will do.

A while back an AL with three MM-90s was in the running, but I ended up going another route.

Are the buckers on a silo high, medium, or low output? I'd be looking to go for a low to medium output with the pickups.

Thanks again!

I'm unclear if you're now talking about the Silo or Silo Special. Both are very versatile.

The bucker in the Special (and I think the newer Silos?) are DiMarzio Virtual PAF's, which would be in the low/medium output range. To my ears, they're pretty focused in the mids, but also have a tight (though not a heavy) bottom, and highs don't have the ice pick effect.

My bad, I'd be looking at the silo. After having the Godin SD, I would prefer a neck humbucker as well as the bridge humbucker.

If I do decide I want a single coil in the neck or bridge, I could always add split switch for each.
