I'm trying to sell this Silhouette Special SSS to help fund the purchase of a new AL. The description for the sale is below. I'm looking to get $500 out of it, I'll split the shipping cost to anywhere in the lower 48 states.

I'm looking to get a new AL, the one with the rosewood fretboard. Which one is that? Is it the LE? I'm wanting trem and matching headstock. I had an AL with the old Wilkinson trem, and I sold it in a fit of lunacy.

-----------------------------

FOR SALE Silhouette Special Purple SSS $500, split shipping cost to lower 48 states.

* Condition This one is a player. The front looks really good. There is some buckle rash, and a few small dings as shown in the picutres. This is a cool metallic purple color.
* Neck maple, has some fret wear, but in good shape. locking grover tuners.
* Bridge wilkinson VSVG vintage style tremolo.
* Original DiMarzio Pickups, SSS, 5 way, vol, tone, silent circuit.
* Case original G&G black tolex case. good shape.

These are locking grovers. They lock from the top down instead of the bottom up like the schallers. Check out the pic of the top of the headstock. It stays in tune really well for a non-locking (read NOT floyd rose type) of guitar.

Blimey! If this was in the UK at this price I'd bite your hand off!

There's a similar second hand Silo in a shop near here (not as nice as this one) on sale for £799 (about $1450!).

Ship 'em over, that's what I say!:D

Hi, there, I've been 'lurking' around this forum for a little while now but man that price for a Silo has spurred me into action.

I apologise If I'm getting this wrong or violating forum etiquette but I've never posted on this or any other kind of forum so if I'm relying on the friendly atmosphere of this forum to help me out as I go astray.

I agree with Bungo (By the way Bungo we met ages ago at a Maiden England or was it Vulture Squadron gig at the Firkin at the bottom of Sutton. We talked guitars for a little while and I work with your drummer Chris at C.T.)

The price of Musicmans here in the U.K. is a bit steep compared to the U.S. However I have an ace up my sleeve. If you'd be willing to sell me that lovely purple Silo for that great price you could ship it to a guitar playing friend of mine in Bethlehem P.A. who could bring it back for me next time he comes back to the U.K.

I know i have no past or history in the eyes of the forum but whaddya say ?

Hey DrBob

Welcome to the forum! If it was Sutton then it was probably Maid In England as Vulture Squadron rarely stray away from Kingston! Hopefully see you again at a future gig.

Good luck with getting hold of this guitar and say hello to Chiggins for me.:D

So here's a problem, I'm probably off to bed now.........
Juat as America gets online, sees this killer guitar makes an offer Wolfbone quite rightly cuts the deal that brings him one step closer to his AL (I've got an AL pinkburst with Rio Grande p/ups that I absolutely love) And there's me left thinking how nice that Purple Silo woulda looked next to my Purple Axis (wedding present from my wife and my first Ball !) ah well, que sera. Good luck Wolf bone and if there's been no deal done by (my) morning maybe I'll get lucky.

Goodnight Forumites, looking was fun but joining in is already much much better

The Wilkinson bridge IS the original bridge. They switched over to the current bridge many years ago (about 10?).

I am now offering this guitar for sale directly to the UK. Shipping will be at cost, and you will be responsible for all duties, customs, taxes, VAT, etc.

Thanks.

Hey,

I'd just like to thank you all for the warm welcome !
And because I sense that you all love the thrill of a chase I just wanted to tell you all that I'm still soo on the case with buying this hot rod beauty off of Wolfbone. the only hindrance is that I'm working in an exhibtion hall with NO net access doing 16 hour days (hear that ? It's the worlds smallest violin playing just for you) so my communication is a bit sporadic until the end of the week.

But I tell you I mean to have it !

Do you think my wife is going to notice ANOTHER black G&G case? Oh man......
