Question Silhouette Special Wiring question

So, Silhouette Special, middle position on the selector, (position 3) - neck single and bridge slug coil in parallel. I prefer it to the standard middle single sound. It's a great sound but it's also the lowest volume of the positions on a Silo Special and it bothers me. So I'm thinking...

Option 1: How about wiring it in series rather than in parallel? That would give me extra volume and the tone won't change dramatically. But will it now be too loud compared to the standard 2 & 4 positions? (Particularly the 2 position which is not very loud either).

Option 2: - Re-wire position 3 to be the normal humbucker full-on in parallel with the neck single coil? What will that sound like? What will the volume be like in comparison to the 2 & 4 positions?

Anybody with a Game Changer want to try some of this out for me?

Option 3: Put in a little preamp to boost the volume of position 3 (and 2, while I'm at it)?

RE: Option 1, I once did a wiring job for a bassist that required a push/pull to put both coils on a J bass in series. So when both pickups were a full volume, switching to series gave a wide humbucker sound. I will say that the tonal difference, not just the volume difference, between series and parallel was substantial. Option 3 you listed would be what the Luke 3 preamp offers, in addition to overall switchable boost. Best option if you can get your hands on one. Option 2, Parallel humbuckers aren't much louder than split humbuckers usually. Still on first cup of coffee but that seems like it would be a complicated wiring project to make the humbucker auto switch from series (pos1), to split (pos 2), to parallel (pos 3).

Maybe. With the 24 pole switch that EBMM use, pretty much anything is possible. It's just a bit of a puzzle to work out but we have a secret electronics weapon here. It's call 'beej'.

Re: tonal difference, I was thinking of my old strat where I once did the series blender mod and it didn't sound significantly different to the parallel positions. Louder and a touch more midrange but not a huge different sound. So, if that's the result I get here, it'll be great.

Re option 2: I have my Y2D set up like this. I split the neck p'up with the tone control ('split-a-split'), and in parallel with the full bridge, it sounds great. Good volume and good clarity. More highs and less muddy then two HBs in parallel. But the Morse p'ups are voiced pretty differently. Would probably sound great here- give you a similar tele-esque vibe but with more meat. (And it'd be pretty simple to do- unsolder one wire from the wiring harness.)

Another option might be add another bridge position, to give you more of a single coil vibe from the bridge. E.g. make one position split the bridge p'up (grounding one coil with the silent circuit), or run it in parallel (coils 1&2).
