Hello,

I have an orange firemist H-S-H silo with black pearloid pickguard. I've been debating this for a while & now after acquiring my new axis I'm finally going to go ahead with a pickguard & p/u change. I want to swap out the HSH black pearloid for a SSS white pearloid. Before I start taking things apart I want to make sure it will work alright. My question is:

Will this be a simple swap with the quick disconnect? Given that I have a piezo will this affect the change & will the EBMM silent circuit run off the same battery for the piezo?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum and nice picture of your guitars.

thanks man,

So does it require any rewiring or will it be plug & play with the quick disconnect?

A lot of guys here have done pick up mods and have been lucky enough to be able to use the molex plug. I'll wait for someone else to chip in on this as my electrical knowledge is minimal.

um I think I am missing something here. Your HSH doesn't have a silent circuit. However, if you are getting a silent circuit with your SSS config then running it from the same battery will be just fine.
My suggestion is if you are not exactly sure then find some one who is.

No my silo does not have a silent circuit. I was wondering how having a piezo would affect the addition of a silent circuit & what rewiring would be involved to go from H-S-H to S-S-S.

I was hoping to be able to use the quick disconnect to switch between the 2.

thanks for the responses

hey...I have an issue like that too.

I have a piezo/silo with a HSS setup and also a complete extra SSS loaded pickguard. I would love to be able to swap freely, but the first swap was a complete re-soldier. I would rather not keep re-soldiering on the circuit board. There are 6 wires. 2 groups of 3 that I would like to put connectors on for fast swap. Which connectors would work the best.

PS...sorry if I hijacked, I was hoping this was kind of what you were talking about too.

No prob man, that is what I'm looking at doing. I have a silo HSH with piezo & have been wanting single coils for some time now. & now that I have recently acquired an Axis I'd like to try SSS on the silo. Also I got a black pearloid pickguard & now want to change it white pearl. I'd love to buy another silo but I don't think the wife will approve. As previously posted I'm hoping to use the quick disconnect to swap between the 2 as well.(if possible)

On another note, I'm trying to get my hands on a loaded pickguard from MM, I'm getting mixed answers on whether or not I can get one from them. I've been speaking with a local dealer & in the past they have gotten them, but now they're not sure. Any thoughts ideas, anyone, Bueller....

I've got a new loaded pick guard on the way. Well see how it all works out!
