Silhoutte Neck Question?

Does anyone know how the size and shape of the neck profile has changed on the Silhouette's over the years. I have a Silhouette special 2005 model, but i am sure i have played some early 90's models that felt more comfortable for me?

I think it's been the same. I've owned a few from late 90's to now, and the neck profile has been fairly consistent. Some have felt a little chunkier than others in places, but overall they've been the same.

Nothing drastical, but they indeed are not quite the same - my silo has a slightly bigger neck than the 20-th silo. Also, the frets used are different. But the most difference in feel is surely due to the fact that the pre-92 necks were finished.

My guess would be that all the silhouette necks since the switch for the sculpted neck joint (1992) are the same unfinished profile and use the same fretwire.

If I'm remembering correctly the original Silhouette's also had an optional "wider neck" for a few years - I think it was 1 11/16" instead of the normal 1 5/8". That option didn't last very long, but I do remember trying one out with the Schaller trem back in 1989 or so that seemed to have a wider neck than the other two Silos this shop had in stock, but memory can be tricky.
