Silly JP saddle question

I was just doing a usual setup including intonation and found something I hadn't notice before. Even at normal tuning and full string tension there is some lateral movement on the saddles (JP). Closer inspection showed a few saddles were actually physically touching one of their neighbors. A few minutes of hard playing and they didn't budge and were still touching, but I can easily nudge them apart by hand.

Just curious if this could affect tone at all and if I should be checking the spacing of the saddles more often and after changing strings.
