I've played Mexican HSS strats, PRS SE Customs, all at Guitar Center with a price higher than the Silo 20. I play mainly blues/classic rock and I'm really interested in the Silo 20. The only way that I will be able to get it in store and play it is to prepay and then get to play it. Should I just go by reviews. I'm currently playing a cheap Starcaster Strat HSS. I think I'm partial to maple fretboards and love the Humbucker and single coil sounds. Silo 20 seems to be the most versatile. Any suggestions?

Personally I like it better than a Mexican strat. The PRS SE is pretty cool, so I might give that one the nod....but like you said it does cost more.

I think you will like it. Also, I think GC has a guarantee that if you aren't satisfied you can return it. (Don't quote me).

Yeah, I did like playing the SE, very ballsy pickups, the neck was nice but different than my strat. But I guess I also missed some of the single coil brightness.

Coach, don't sweat it. Talk to the mgr of GC, in all likeliness he'll give you a 45day return on it.

Either way let him know that he's going to make a guitar sale, and this way you can see firsthand that the Silo is going to win!!:)

Well I understand what you are going through, and for some reason as we see on the forum all GC's are not stocked the same. When I wanted my Y2D they told me they do not carry them and I would just have to come in and order one. But I was lucky enough to get a chance to check one out before doing so. I would take TNT's advice because if you do not mesh with it you can return it, which I was not sure about since I am not that familiar with there policies but always checkout a guitar before buying.
